The story of Beltank
Avanti	Beltank originated in 1997 from the merging of the tank barge department of Antwerp Chartering NV, the Belgian Branch office of Nedlloyd in Rotterdam, and Cisalpina NV from Antwerp, the subsidiary of SRN Alpina, Basle. They came together with Marcel Lepinoy, a private barge owner with several barges which at that time where operated by Antwerp Chartering. These three partners joined their forces to provide, with the help of several other interested and independent barge owners, a reliable service to their clients.
Topper	Because they wanted to concentrate on their core business, Container traffic, Nedlloyd (Antwerp Chartering) withdrew after one year from the board of directors leaving their shares to Cisalpina and Lepinoy. Two years later, Cisalpina, which by that time had been sold to the German Rethmann group decided to sell its shares in Beltank as well. As a result, all the Beltank shares have been held since that time of M. Lepinoy.
Louis	Since then Beltank has taken a major position in the Belgian tank barge market. Through close cooperation with several solid partners, Beltank also serves the Dutch and German markets. As a result of our efforts on the French market we have increased our fleet in France to eight barges.
